Overview
Count. It challenges are about creating community. Cheering for others — and competing with them — is where the magic happens. This is why all Count. It challenges have social NEWSFEEDS! The challenge "Feed" delivers real time activity updates, and provides a central place for conversation, comments and...reactions. 😉
PRO Tip: Challenge newsfeeds were launched in January 2026, replacing the challenge "Chat" feature which previously existed.
Accessing the Feed
Every challenge has two main screens: Path and Feed. To move between them, simply tap the desired tab, or swipe left or right on your phone screen.
Feed Filters
The challenge feed can be filtered by audience or content type as follows:
Audience
Everyone: The default feed in a challenge includes all challenge participants, with "read only" access for group members who are not in the challenge.
Team(s): If you have joined one or more teams in the challenge, tap the filter to switch to your team feeds. Only members of a team can access that team's feed.
Content
Each feed contains two types of content.
Activities: By default all challenge activity logs — other than daily steps — will appear in both the Everyone and team feeds. (Daily step totals change too frequently over the course of the day to make for good posts!)
Messages: Any challenge member, or admin, can post a message to the Everyone feed, or to their team feed(s). In addition, Count. It automatically posts challenge notifications to the Everyone feed every day, including a morning report, updates on lead changes, new activities logged, and more.
PRO Tip: Any challenge participant can limit the visibility of their activity logs via their personal visibility settings.
Posting to the Feed
To post to the feed, simply tap the large, blue "+" button at the bottom right of your feed screen.
The "+" button will either take you direct to the post creation form; OR, if your challenge allows for manual entry, you will have the option to select which type of content you want to create, an activity log or feed post.
Once on the message editing form, simply add you text, and don't be afraid to include a photo or two!
Editing or Deleting a Post
If you want to change or delete a message you've posted, tap on your post in the Everyone or Team feed to open the post's detail screen. At the top right of this screen, tap the "..." overflow menu icon to reveal the "Edit" and "Delete" options.
PRO Tip: Deleting an activity log entry that has sync'd from a connected fitness app is a bit more complex! For full details, please see How do I correct or delete an inaccurate data point?
Pinning a post in a feed (admins only)
Some posts deserve more attention than others. To help highlight these, any admin can "pin" user posts or activity logs to the top of the feed. (Note: System notifications can not be pinned at this time.)
To pin a message, the admin should tap on the post or log in the Everyone feed to open the post detail screen. At the top right of the screen, tap the "..." overflow menu icon to reveal the "Pin" (or "Unpin") option.
Posts are pinned in reverse chronological order, so the most recently pinned post will be on top.
