How do I correct or delete an inaccurate data point?

If you or your fitness tracker made a mistake, it's easy to set the record straight.

Correct Data Logged via Count.It

If you entered incorrect data via the Count. It manual entry form, that's an easy fix:

  • Open your activity log, and tap on the activity "card" with the incorrect data.

  • On the activity detail screen, scroll down and tap the "Delete" link.

  • Once deleted, you can add back the correct data with a new manual entry.

  • You can use the same process for any logged activity including steps, exercise, meditation, and even wellness goals.

Correct Data Sync'd from a Fitness App

Fitness tracking apps are generally reliable, but sometimes they can record inaccurate data. If you notice that your fitness tracker is reporting incorrect activity, you can either update or delete the data on Count. It by correcting it in your connected app. Once the data is updated, you can sync the corrected data to Count.It. Note: If the activity is auto-logged by your fitness tracker, you may not be able to edit the data, and the only solution is to delete the record, and re-log the activity manually. Manual Entry must be enabled for your challenge. (See further details below.)

Follow these steps to correct or remove inaccurate activity logs:

  • Correct the Data in Your Fitness App:
Open the fitness tracking app you use and locate the incorrect activity. Each tracker has different steps for editing or deleting activity—see the links below for detailed instructions. Once you find the activity, tap to either delete or edit the data.

  • Sync the Data to Count. It:
After correcting the data, close and reopen your Count. It app. Tap the "manual sync" button on your challenge screen to force a full refresh of your activity logs. This will sync all data from the last 28 days or since the start of your challenge.

Where's my data?

If you cannot find the link to delete a data point in your fitness app, it’s likely because the data is coming from another source. For example, Google Fit does not allow the deletion of activity records from other sources. To remove this data, you must go to the original source (e.g., the wearable app) and delete it there.

PRO Tip

If the inaccurate activity was "auto-logged" by your fitness tracker, you may not be able to edit it. For example, if you log a run with your Apple Watch, Fitbit, or Garmin, this run workout will include a great deal of data generated by the wearable device's sensors. Most trackers will not allow you to edit that data. To correct the record, you must delete that activity log entry entirely, and then create a new manual entry with the correct information, either on the fitness tracker app, or directly via the Count. It Manual Entry form. Note: Your challenge must allow manual activity logging in order for your new data to be counted.
