Everything you need to know about challenge chat!

Updated over a week ago

What's a challenge without cheering and competitive banter—not to mention announcements from the admins? Say hello to your challenge chat and newsfeed!

Like any modern chat feed, the operating instructions are simple: Just tap the chat icon on your challenge screen to open the chat, read and post to the feed.

While simple to operate, the chat has multiple channels, and a number of cool features under the hood, for both regular challenge members and admins.

Channels

All challenge chats include three types of channels:

  • Everyone: This is the channel for general challenge banter. All posts are seen by everyone, so please be polite.

  • Team(s): If your challenge has teams, every team automatically gets its own chat channel. This is where team members can cheer for each other, organize team activities, or nudge each other along. If you're a member of more than one team, tap the team button to navigate between your different team chats.

  • Alerts: Only Group Admins can post to the Alerts channel, and this is the place for important messaging during your challenge. Any time an admin posts an Alert you will also receive a push notification to your phone.

Chat Features

  • Add an Image: To post an image, tap the paperclip icon to the left of the chat input field, and then either take a picture, or select an image from your phone's camera reel.

  • React or Reply: Long tap on any chat post to react ❤️👍, or post a threaded reply.

  • Edit or Delete: Long tap on any message that you have posted to see the options for editing or deleting your message. Challenge members can edit and delete their own posts. Group Admins can delete any post in the feed.

  • Unread Messages: When you open the chat, you will see a colorful badge pinned to your chat channels, showing which have new messages, and how many. To quickly skip to unread messages, tap the "unread" alert at the top of your feed when you first open the chat channel.
