How does sync'ing work on Count. It?

Longer than you might expect!

Updated this week

When you connect a fitness tracker to Count. It, we’ll automatically pull in your activity data — but how and when syncing happens depends on a few factors.

🕒 Initial Sync: We Go Back in Time

When you first connect a tracker, Count. It will automatically pull in data from the start of your current challenge, up to 28 days back.

💡 If your challenge started more than 28 days ago, we’ll pull as far back as we can.

🔁 Ongoing Sync: Behind the Scenes

After your tracker is connected, Count. It will attempt to auto-sync your data:

  • Every time you open the app

  • Periodically in the background
(depending on your fitness tracker’s capabilities)

During each auto-sync, Count. It grabs any new activity data logged since your last successful sync.

👆 Need to Refresh Older Data?

If you’ve made changes to past activity — like editing or deleting old entries — you may want to manually resync your data.

Just tap the 🔄 Manual Sync button on your challenge screen. This pulls in all available data from the start of your challenge, up to 28 days back.

Use this if you’ve updated your tracker data and want to make sure Count. It reflects the changes. Note: This does not work for Garmin Connect users, which is a "push" only process, i.e. we get new data when you sync your Garmin wearable.

⚠️ A Few Important Notes:

  • Only the first tap on Manual Sync fully refreshes your data.

  • To run it again, close and reopen the app, then tap Manual Sync again.

  • Activity older than 28 days usually can’t be synced.

  • As a best practice, open the Count. It app regularly to keep data flowing smoothly.
