By default, any challenge a group admin creates on Count. It is open to everyone in the group. Sometimes, though, an admin wants to run a challenge for just part of the group, such as a single office location or a specific team, without everyone else joining. For that, the admin can make the challenge invite-only. Each invite-only challenge gets its own secret pass phrase, and only people who have the pass phrase can join.
Turn on "Invite Only"
When you create a challenge, you’ll see a Who Can Join? screen. You can also turn on Invite Only after your challenge is created: open the challenge, tap the pencil icon to edit it, and go to Who can join.
To make your challenge invite-only, tap or click Invite Only. A pass phrase is created for your challenge automatically. Group members can’t join the challenge without it.
Share the pass phrase
Pass phrases are two easy-to-remember words, like misty-moon. You’ll see yours on the Who Can Join? screen when you create the challenge, and you can find it anytime by editing the challenge and going to Who can join.
Use the copy or share buttons to send the pass phrase to the people you want in, however you usually reach them, such as email, Slack, or a text.
Need a different pass phrase? Tap New phrase. The old pass phrase stops working right away, and anyone who has already joined stays in the challenge.
Join an invite-only challenge
An invite-only challenge appears on the group home with a small lock icon. Everyone in the group can still open the challenge’s Info tab to see its goals and description, but the Feed and Live View are only visible to people who’ve joined. Instead of the usual Join button, they’ll see Join with pass phrase.
When a group member taps Join with pass phrase, they’re asked to enter the pass phrase:
Capital letters, spaces and the hyphen don’t matter, so Misty Moon works just as well as misty-moon. Once they enter the correct pass phrase, they join the challenge as usual.
