If your challenge admin has turned on "user-generated teams," you can create your own team, name it, add an image, and invite teammates to join. Here's how.
Note: If you don't see an option to create a team, your admin may not have enabled this for the challenge. Reach out to them directly.
What is a team?
A team is a group of challenge participants who compete together. Your team's score is the average of all members' scores, so teams of different sizes can compete fairly.
Being on a team doesn't stop you from competing as an individual — you'll do both at the same time.
How to create your team
1. Open the challenge and tap the Info tab at the top.
2. Tap the Join a Team card.
3. On the next screen, tap Add a team.
4. Give your team a name. (Optional: upload a team image.)
5. Tap Save.
Your team now appears in the challenge, and you're the Team Captain.
What can a Team Captain do?
As the team's creator, you're its Captain. You can:
Add or change the team image at any time.
Make other members Captains too — useful if you want to share management.
Delete the team if you no longer want it.
You'll see a "Captain" label next to your name on the team's Members tab.
Heads up: As of June 2026, Team Captains who aren't also group admins can't directly add or remove other members. Teammates need to join the team themselves — see below.
How do teammates join my team?
Once your team exists, anyone in the challenge can join it. Share the team name with them — by message, email, or wherever your group chats.
To join, they'll tap the Info tab on the challenge, then Join a Team, then your team's name. For reference, see: How do I join my challenge team?
Your team's private feed
Every team has its own Feed tab on the team profile — a private space where teammates can post comments, share workouts, and connect. Only team members can see it.
To open it, tap your team's avatar on the challenge path, then tap the Feed* tab.
