Troubleshooting Garmin Connect Sync Issues

Garmin users deserve their points! Let's get you sync'ing.

Updated this week

Count. It connects directly to your Garmin wearable through Garmin Connect, Garmin’s cloud-based platform. If your steps or workouts aren’t showing up in your challenge, here’s how to troubleshoot the connection.

✅ Step 1: Confirm Your Garmin Device Is Syncing to Garmin Connect

First, make sure your Garmin wearable is syncing with the Garmin Connect app on your phone:

  1. Open the Garmin Connect app.

  2. Make sure your wearable is paired via Bluetooth.

  3. Swipe down or tap the sync icon to force a sync.

Garmin will send data to Count. It whenever you upload NEW data from your Garmin Connect app to the Garmin servers. To test the connection, make sure to log new activity, and then prompt the data transfer.

Note: Garmin syncs via the cloud, so updates can take a minute or two to appear.

🔐 Step 2: Check Garmin Permissions in Count. It

To confirm that Garmin is properly connected to Count. It:

  1. Open the Count.It app.

  2. Go to the Trackers screen.

  3. Toggle the Garmin Connect connection off, then on again.

  4. You’ll be prompted to log into your Garmin account and grant permission for data sharing.

  5. Be sure to accept all requested permissions, including:

    • Steps

    • Workouts / activities

    • Profile data

🧠 Still Not Seeing Your Data?

  • Double-check that your activity falls within your challenge dates.

  • Make sure your Garmin data is visible on the Garmin Connect web dashboard at connect.garmin.com.

  • Ensure you’re logging in with the same Garmin account across Connect and Count.It.

  • Try restarting your phone and re-opening the Count. It app.
