Most of the time, getting activity data from your fitness tracker to Count. It is automatic. The simplest thing you can do to make sure your data is consistently flowing is just to open your Count. It app.
If you are not seeing your data, there's usually a simple reason or fix. In rare cases, with complex "setups," troubleshooting may take a bit longer. Reading the notes below carefully, and following the steps will resolve most issues.
Start Here: Simple Checks
Does your group have an active challenge, i.e. a challenge that has started, and is not yet over?
Are you a member of the challenge?
Have you logged any of the challenge activities since the challenge started?
Does your iPhone have Internet access?
PRO Tips:
If the challenge has not started, or is over; or if you are not a member of the challenge, you will not sync data. Also, if the challenge is an exercise-only challenge, and you have logged steps, you will not see any activity. Last, if your phone does not have Internet access, your activity data will not be able to make the necessary roundtrip from the Count. It app to the Count. It servers and back.
Apple Health Connections
Apple Health serves as the primary wellness data hub for iPhones. It collects step data from the phone itself, as well as from connected Apple Watches, and/or other connected apps, including Strava, Peloton, Oura, and many others. Assuming the necessary data sharing permissions have been granted, Count. It should be able to get any challenge-related activity data that has been stored in your Health app.
Normal Sync Frequency
Once you have connected your Apple Health to Count. It, the apps will attempt to sync at the following times:
Every every time you open the Count. It app.
Every 15 mins in the background, even when your Health app is closed.
Every time you tap the "manual sync" button on your challenge screen.
Keep in mind that your phone must have Internet access for a data sync to succeed.
Confirm Activity Data
If you are not seeing your Health activity data on Count. It, please confirm that it is indeed on your Health app, and that the activity falls within the challenge dates.
Go to your Health app --> Summary screen, and tap on "Show All Health Data." You will see a screen like this:
Tap on the card for the challenge activity type that you are not seeing on Count.It. For steps, this would be the "Steps" card. Important note: For exercise, this is the "Workouts" card.
PRO Tip
The Apple Watch auto-tracks "exercise minutes" any time your movement "equals or exceeds the intensity of a brisk walk." This is great, but these minutes do not count for points in a Count. It exercise challenge. To earn points for exercise on Count. It, you must log a specific exercise type or "workout." See here for full details.
On the activity-specific screen, you can scroll down and tap the "Show All Data" option to see your data by date.
Make sure that you have activity showing up for the right dates.
Confirm Data Sharing Permissions
Now let's check that all data sharing permissions are properly granted.
Go to your Count. It Trackers screen, and confirm that the Apple Health is switched to "On."
Open your Apple Health app, and tap on your profile avatar at the top right of the home screen.
Next tap on the Apps menu option:
On the next screen, you should see the Count. It Journey "app icon." Tap on that.
On the permissions screen for Count. It Journey, make sure that all of the options are turned on. Your screen should look like this:
Not Seeing Updates or Deletions for Past Data?
Count. It attempts to auto-sync every time you open the app, as well as in the background. During any auto-sync, Count. It will grab all of the new activity data you have logged since your last successful data update.
If you want to delete or update activity data that was previously sync'd to Count. It, i.e. for dates prior to your last successful sync, you can do a "Manual Sync," which will refresh your data back to the start of the challenge.
To prompt a "Manual Sync," tap on the "🔄" button on your challenge page. Manual Syncs gather activity data going back to the start of your challenge, up to 28 days.
Important Notes:
Once you have pressed the Manual Sync button, you don't need to press it again. It will only fully refresh your activity logs the first time. To "redo" a Manual Sync, you can close and reopen the app, and then tap the Manual Sync button again.
In most cases, activity logged prior to 28 days, can no longer be sync'd.
PRO Tips
Please note, for data to sync to Count. It, your iPhone must be unlocked and have Internet access. For best results, the Count. It app should be open. It can be open "in the background," but it's a good idea to bring it to the "foreground," as iOS can terminate its access to sending and receiving data.
Please check to see that your iPhone is not in Low Power Mode. When the phone is in this mode, background work is disabled, and this will prevent syncing
