Fitbit Duplicate Account Issues

Is Fitbit telling you that you have more than one account? We got you.

Updated over a week ago

When you try to connect your Fitbit to Count. It, you are sent to a Fitibt authorization screen, and you may see the error "This email used with different Fitbit accounts."

What's happening: Fitbit has added "Sign in with Google" to its sign in options. (This makes sense since Google owns Fitibt.) However, Fitbit has not linked the email address accounts that already existed in its system with the related Google accounts, i.e. even if those have the same email address. So, when you try to sign in to Fitbit using your Google account, it will see that your Google account email and identify that it already exists in the Fitbit database, but it will not allow you to sign in. Instead you get this error screen:

The solution: The solution is NOT to sign in with your Google account. Choose the option to sign in with your email and password. Once you authenticate, Fitbit will likely prompt you to link your "email" email-password account to your Google account. EIther way, you will be able to complete the process.
